Forschende der Polytechnischen Universit\u00e4t Mailand haben eine Batterie entwickelt, die ausschlie\u00dflich aus Lebensmitteln und Nahrungsmittelzus\u00e4tzen zusammengesetzt ist. Der Prototyp lieferte in ersten Tests 0,65 Volt und 48 Mikroampere und hielt rund zw\u00f6lf Minuten.<\/p>\n

Die Anode der Batterie besteht aus dem Vitamin B2, die Kathode aus dem biologisch aktiven Pflanzenstoff Quercetin. Beide Materialien sind gemischt mit Aktivkohle zur Verbesserung der Leitf\u00e4higkeit. Der Elektrolyt der Batterie ist eine Natriumhydrogensulfat-L\u00f6sung. Au\u00dferdem hat die Batterie einen Separator aus Nori-Algen. Weitere Komponenten sind Zellulose als St\u00fctzger\u00fcst, eine Umh\u00fcllung aus Bienenwachs und essbares Blattgold f\u00fcr die elektronischen Kontakte.<\/p>\n

Die Batterie ist vollst\u00e4ndig essbar und bietet den Forschern zufolge eine sicherere Alternative zu herk\u00f6mmlichen Lithium-Ionen-Batterien. Professor Ivan Ilic und seine Kollegen betonen das Potenzial der Batterie, die Elektronik zu revolutionieren: Sie k\u00f6nnte den Weg f\u00fcr neue elektronische Anwendungen in der medizinischen Diagnostik und Behandlung ebnen.<\/p>\n
